About Chemistry
Chemistry comes with a little mystery where elements interact with each other to bring a different outcome so do Chemistry science fair projects. From school, a student comes to know more and more about chemistry, and then it becomes a favorite subject of many. The Chemistry projects are most popular among lower-class students and they love to show how much they know about it. The schools also respond well as they prepare science fair projects and give a proper stage to their students. There are also various high-level stages where most of the students participate.
The science fair is not only challenging for students but also for the parents also as they too get involved in it. Chemistry projects are one of those where a child can become a mess. But when things go in the right direction then only achievements are there.
The need of participating in chemistry science fair
Chemistry is that branch of science where the process of experiments explores the mind. There are many elements present in the periodic table and all elements are present in the environment. For new minds to get involved in chemistry projects means they will be unlocking a new door of science. All the things that are being taught become a reality. Like when salt and sugar when mixed with water in different proportions they all taste different.
There are many things other things than salt and sugar and also how the compounds of molecules behave with each other. With the help of Chemistry Science, there are certainly new things to see. When participating it becomes easier to understand the different worlds of chemistry which can be unknown to many,
Finding the right Chemistry Project for young minds
The branches of chemistry are wide and cover a greater area. Still, there are many types of research being made on different aspects of chemistry but for a science fair, we can keep that aside. The biggest question that keeps a person thinking that what project should be taken for the Chemistry fair. Undoubtedly there are tons of Chemistry Projects which are very common. In this, there is always a chance that things can go in common with others. If there is a competition in the class or in the school then common projects will really not be helping that much.
For kids, the chemistry projects should not be complicated and they would be able to handle them. As for kids of younger age, the common and easy ones are more suitable. They will certainly enjoy it more and also will be going to learn many things from it.
Basically, Chemistry is divided into two parts:
a) Organic Chemistry: It is that branch of chemistry that deals with the structural properties and reactions of both organic materials and compounds. This one shows that chemical and physical methods determine the chemical constitution and composition of organic materials and compounds. The study focuses mainly on the chemical and physical properties. The main aim is to know the organic behavior as they are reacting when coming in contact with other compounds or chemicals.
The study is based on the mix of hydrogen and carbon (Hydrocarbons), phosphorus, nitrogen, oxygen sulfur, and halogens found in radio stable elements. Modern chemistry mainly focuses on the elements of Organic Chemistry and this branch covers most of the topics in Chemistry.
b) Inorganic Chemistry: Where Organic Chemistry deals with carbonic substances Inorganic Chemistry is just the opposite of it. One can say that Inorganic Chemistry is not having anything to deal with the bonding of hydrogen and carbon substances. In Inorganic chemistry, the study is conducted of properties, synthesis, and formation. There are only 100K Inorganic known compounds that have been founded.
On the other hand, more than 2 Million Organic compounds are present in the modern era. Inorganic compounds are oxides, babes, acids, and salt. All these compounds, when mixed with one another, give a different reaction. In simple words mix them and they come out in a different compound reaction.
Chemistry Science Fair Project Ideas
Even before starting for the fair, it’s important to know what kinds of projects are to be taken. Some projects look too easy but they are not. One has to know all the things that they are having or going to be used. Here are some of the creative and most amazing project ideas that anyone is able to do by themselves.
a) Organic Chemistry Project Ideas
- How drinking water is formed from different sources.

- The reaction of Tomatoes Vitamin C when Heated.
- Finding Caffeine in different tea Samples.
- Making Toilet Soaps.
- The Ink Making.
- Why do the apples turn Brown?
b) Inorganic Chemistry Project Ideas
- Measure contents of Phosphate and Carbonate in a salt drink.
- Attaining unbroken and large crystals from salts that exothermically dissolve.

- Baking soda experiment
- Paper boat with soap.
How to choose which project is best for you
Every project has its own limitations and area of work. Before starting to choose what project one can do. It is always good to write some illustrations about them on a piece of paper. The Internet is a wonderful thing today, videos are available to watch and also to learn. Once you are convinced of the writing and are satisfied then check what the resources available are. Most of the experiments consist of basic things which can be founded in the kitchen only.
There will be a crowd at a Science fair and it’s important not to run out of resources. Also, having some practice before going to the presentation is also very important. On the note choose the project in which you are comfortable and explain how things work in the chemistry of your project.
