Library System project in Java

 

Project Objective

The primary objective of this library system project is to maintain the records of the books and various documents which are available under the library room and to maintain the database of the students who will take the services of their library campus. There will be different type of users who will use this system in order to perform processing task and other administrative task apart from the students. Students will be provided with two options while accessing this system and these two are: Login and Register. For the very first time users (student), they have to register by using this system and their account will be verified by the librarian.      

                    Processing wok will be handled by the three layers which are tomcat server layer, application server layer which is jdbc odbc and the third one is database layer. Some of the default settings will be enforced while using the system such as listing of requested records in the ascending order and as per category wise. The primary objective of this enforcement is to make easy access to all information. The listing of books will be provided along with their front images with search and browse options. To display the exact location of books, a virtual mapping system has been implemented to find any book easily.

Existing System

Previously the system was not able to overcome from the problem of data redundancy which in turn increases the burden of background processing. All working departments were not integrated with each other, by which manual work has to be done to make all task done. Any students who have fined, they need to submit their library card for final billing and provide account pay slip to confirm their due fees. Due to this problem students were not free to take out books from library until they have cleared their dues.

Proposed System

In this new Library System project, the problem of forgetting password or facing problem while login has been resolved and will automatically handle by the system itself. Students will also able to take print out or download pages of particular book either in pdf or in xml format. One to one and one to many relationship has been implemented to eliminate the process of data redundancy and maintain consistency. An inbuilt function within this system will able to provide the entire day transactions for each end day which will improve the auditing process. The CMS part of the library system can be inserted with video lectures which can be accessed by the system or a private messages can be send to the students to make them inform about new books under the library room.

Online Shopping System project

 

Objective

Providing the look and feel of shopping to the customers just as like shopping mall like Vishal mega mart, Pantaloons, Big Shop etc virtually will be highly accepted by the customers. So designing and processing section will play a vital role to attract customers and gain maximum business area. Under this new online shopping system, the will be two modules upon which the entire system will depend. The first part will be admin control panel and the next part will be for customers. Through admin panel, admin will able to upload images, make documentation, set price, number of items and set image appearance style and much more.  

       On the customers side, they will able to get three different type images, automatic enlargement of images upon placing mouse on it, displaying number of items available, price and discounts if available. This system has been enable with secure payment gateway by using third party trusted certificates. Admin should have a PayPal account in order to receive payments from any bank and in different currencies. All products has been categorized into different sections and easy searching process through provided options such as products within particular range, size, colors etc. To start purchasing using this online portal, each customers should have a valid login id and password. Verification of account will be done through customers valid email id.

Existing System

Existing system also acts as online shopping system but lacking with various features which are highly demanding in today’s market such as dynamic home page, making payments by selecting their particular banks, search facility within store web pages for particular products and many more. In this system enlargement of images and product categorization was not available. Admin panel has not been provided with content management system for producing stylish look and handling system and arranging items as per their choice. Any changes in system output requires changes in coding section which is not always feasible.

Proposed System

Through this new online shopping system customization can be easily made on various section such as selecting theme colors and style, setting look and style and make changes on particular date and time which makes it a dynamic website. Changing logo and watermark for images that will appear in front of customers. Even each products can be categorized and display products on various attributes such as size, colors etc. Admin section will easily able to get customers information including their email and contact number, list of products ordered and their payment status information. Its accounting section will able to provide clear picture on sales and purchase and prepare report using report generator and producing analysis report in graphical format such as in the form of bar graph or by using pie chart.

Intranet Mailing System project

 

Project Objective

Till now we all are using the concept of intranet with the help of internet but using the new intranet mailing system, it will enable its users to have private chatting without using the internet connection. Within an organization, there are various departments and all employees work based on their schedule and shifts. So it not possible for them to communicate when the working employees were available in the organization. Mailing system will allow them to drop messages to other employee’s inbox by which they can check at their working hour to take responsive decision on time.  

     It will work just like an organization portal for working employees to establish communication between them. All employees have to register using this system to get a unique id and select a strong password as per the given choices. Some new features such as smileys and graphics texture has been added to express views properly in front of others. This system will work as host as well as for their clients and all information will be stored at central server. To establish fast communication between coworkers, list of directors and team manager’s id will be available directly under the profile of particular employees by which they can send private messages without searching them.

Existing System

For private mailing employees were using other vendors mailing system such as gtalk, yahoo mail and many more, but it was not possible for the employees and organization to use single id by all the working members. It was not able to provide a professional environment for professional workers. These system were provided with limited features as per the organization requirements and send request to send messages and establish communication. But within organization all employees’ needs to communicate with other related to work and may be some time personal and there is no way to reject one’s request.

Proposed System

As the system will be installed at any particular server which will act as host and its client’s means working employees can access this system using particular IP address or by using its registered domain name. Each employee will use their id and password to login and access their panel to perform activities such as chat, send messages and documents, smileys etc. The concept of session will able to show the history details for each items such as for incoming and outgoing messages, to whom sended and their status such as delivered or failed.   

  Employees will able to see the names, designation and profile picture of person to whom they have sended messages and vice versa. It will also enable them to schedule messages on particular date and time and pre-defined format will provide availability to send messages as per business requirement in professional format.

Online Examination System Project

 

Objective

Conducting a paperless examination is made available by using the concept of web based online examination, which includes automated processing system for all the works which was previously done by using human work power. This online examination system will able to work as two way road just by single system. Through this web application, it can be possible to conduct examination through internet or to a particular geographical region using the concept of LAN or through intranet for particular organization.

Online Examination System Snapshots

It can be possible to conduct either objective type examination of subjective type examination through this web based application. In case of objective type examination, question checking process will be carried out directly by the system and in case of subjective type of examination, each candidate’s answers will be sended to the examiner which will be reviewed by them and assign marks based on their answers. The other security features which are available are: – keeping each candidates invisible to others, providing different questions for each system at same time, disabling answer option after time limit and passing the session to next questions. It marks displaying section will be configured by the admin as per the requirement. Candidates will able to get their results either after completing their examination or through email.

Existing System

Under the existing system data redundancy and consistency was not introduced and entering same data under different tables were not always be possible. Even when updation requires, need additional work load thus increasing database workload. One to one and one to many relationship were not introduced and checking process of child tables before entering data in master tables mechanism were not implemented. Presenting graphical based questions to the appearing candidates were not possible and thus questions were only be displayed using simple texts.

Proposed System

The concept of CMS and graphical tools has been fully integrated with this new web based online examination system. Here the examiner will of two different types one for the checking objective type questions and other for descriptive type questions. Browser configuration and setting will enable the system to identify its type and disable the function of minimization and using other devices. There will be dual timer, one for the questions and other for different sections. Upon each specified time limit questions will be change and on completion of each module, servlet will be forwarded to another module.

Online Shopping Cart project in Java

 

Objective

To give users a fabulous experience while shopping, the shopping modules has been divided into different menus and sub menus with proper heading. Upon selecting the proper section, the list of products along with their images and price per items will be available. By default it will include the product page which are available with offers or discounts to give a attractive look and feel to attract customers for their very first time. For customers who want to experience real time shopping experience, they have to first make a profile using their valid email and mobile number for placing their orders.      

               Using tiles, the entire web page has been divided into three section and these are header, footer and body section. Further body section has been divided into three sub section, left menu and right menu and in between contents of the body. To provide easy processing environment, users have to select the product and system will take care, what to be done under the next sections. As many number items selected by the customers it details can be reviewed through the Online Shopping Cart available at the top section. Online Shopping Cart will display the items name, total number of items, price per items and the total amount which has to be paid by the customer.

Existing System

Due to changing market and change in lifestyle, existing system was not able to meet the user requirements and provide flexible processing options. Under the existing system, customers were not able to place their reviews and ratings for products which they have purchased. Customers were not provided with deadline details for each products and order confirmation details. The concept of code and email verification was not available in order to identify authentic customers to make billing process faster. Star ratings was not available on various parameters for different products such as on shipping time, shipping cost, product quality and money.

Proposed System

To make a hassle free Online Shopping Cart system, the confirmation of products order and payment will be done in four steps.Shopping cart will be provided with two options along with product description and price details. Through these two options, they can either check out the product details and other is make payment by selecting proper gateway. Customers can hover over the image to get the enlarge view of the products and reviews of other customers will be available below the product details. Before placing order, customers have to check their address, payment method, code confirmation and after that greeting message with final confirmation and change option.

Online Net Voting Project in Java

 

Project Objective

Conducting online voting was not possible earlier due to security reason but with the concept of two layer authentication process for identification of voters and casting their votes by identifying their correct booths will fulfill all the demands imposed by the election commission of India. There were various reason by which this Online Net Voting Project system were in demand like on election day peoples were not able to visit election booth due to their health problem, old age persons were not able to walk to cast their votes by staying in line for a long period, working professional who were out of their city on election day and many more.  

     To cast their precious votes which can bring the changes, peoples have to register by giving their basic information and their voter ID card unique number. Its unique identification method will directly redirect to particular booth for which that person is allowed to vote and user will able to see the list of candidates which have been enrolled from their location or ward or area. The Online Net Voting Project will generate only one time password on the date of election through which person can cast their vote and once they cast, such person will not allowed to cast their vote again.

Existing System

Till now, casting votes were done using electronic ballets and by visiting to their booth location. If such person were not available, they were not able to cast their precious vote and counting number of votes for each nominated candidates were a time taking process even when using electronic ballets. Multiple layer of security mechanism was not possible to implement and huge investment has to be made to provide security and task risk for the loss of human life’s. There was no mechanism to availability and reliability of the voting system and identification of correct person who will cast their vote.

Proposed System

Online Net Voting Project system has been integrated with proper authentication and validation system such as inbuilt internet phishing system, HTTPS and SSL layer from overcoming security risks and its one time password generating system for casting their votes. People can register for vote anytime but they will only allowed to cast their vote on particular date and for particular interval of time, means for example between 8 AM to 4 PM. Voters will also able to check the results on specified date and the result generating system will able to count the result within few minutes by using per defined processing modules. This system will also able to maintain consistency and eliminate redundancy by ensuring the non-duplication of voters and election booths.
