Network Based Image Retrieval System Project

Problem Definition

Design and implementation of a Network Based Image Retrieval System, which searches images from a large database in a network based on the image features such as color, texture and shape.

Network Based Image Retrieval System Abstract

Network Based Image Retrieval System is a computer-assisted system, which searches images from a large database in a network according to the image features such as color, texture and shape. It searches collection of images based on some features that can be extracted from the image data automatically . The central task in any image data management is to retrieve images that meet some specified constraints.

Image search requires……..

  • Real-time image recognition capability.
  • Can be used for any images Stamp, Satellite, Face, Infrared, X-ray, Color photos.
  • In many areas of commerce, government, academia, and hospitals, large collection of digital images are being created. Many of these collections are the product of digitizing existing collections of analogue photographs, diagrams, drawings, painting, and prints. Usually, the only way of searching these collections was by keyword indexing, or simply by browsing. Digital image databases however, open the way to network-based searching. Compared to conventional image retrieval techniques that use indexing keywords to retrieve image files. It retrieves images on the basis of automatically derived features. This feature makes this technology useful in many areas such as crime prevention, medicine, architecture, fashion, publishing, etc.

Context Based Search Engine

Problem Definition for Context Based Search Engine

Our project Context Based Search Engine is basically a research oriented project where we are required to understand the working of search engines such as google, msn etc and study the concepts of data mining and data warehousing and also to research on available search algorithms. We also would be doing a comparative analysis of Google Search API and Lucene framework.

Technology Used

Java

Platform

Windows Machine

Software and Hardware Requirements

  • JDK 1.5
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2
  • 512 Mb RAM
  • 80 Gb HDD
  • Pentium 4 processor

Context Based Search Engine Project Description

Although several new operating systems attempt to provide users with content-based search capabilities, they are limited to text documents. A key challenge in implementing a content-based similarity search system for feature-rich data is that such data is noisy and complex. For example, consider two different photographs of an identical scene, or two separate recordings of a person speaking the same sentence. Despite the high degree of similarity between the two images or between the audio files or data, the digital pattern of this data are different at very low level. By Comparing noise inside the digital data , usually data requires matching based on some similarity of pattern instead of exact match of digital representation. However, if we try similarity search in high dimensional data it is notoriously difficult. So in current scenario, today’s advanced search algorithms such as database tools and search engines have limited capability to search for exact matches. These kind of  search engines can work only for textual data and text annotations only. To date, there is no practical content-based search engine for massive amounts of inherently noisy, feature-rich data.

Our application would be a code indexing and search application. It will be an application of Search API and Lucene framework. This is a branched out specialized domain from context based searching.

Hospital management system class diagram

Goal of Hospital management system

With every going day the need to be where the inflow of out patient  request exceeds that which can be handled manually. Hence computerization of  OP receipt request and maintenance of the drugs through the computerization  brings better satisfaction and service oriented ness.

Quicker processing of OPNO receipt would mean better  service to the patients . It would also help in the complexity of maintaining the records manually and   thus less time is wasted on rework. Proper maintenance of the drug information timely dispatching of the drugs from the main stores to the pharmacy  and also maintenance of daily dispatching of the drugs to the out patients from the pharmacy to the out patients . Towards this achievement the computerization of the Hospital management system will help greatly in maintaining pf proper information about the out patients who are eligible for the free services and the patients who are not eligible for the free services , drug information , patients records ,and daily dispatching of the drugs to various patients .

Need of Hospital management system

To develop a Hospital management system as  from manual system to computerized system, and to take care of Records of the various departments in the health center. The current manual system is vulnerable and slow to computerize the system to produce the output and result.

Technology Used Remote Grammar Updation Module Project

JSP

Java Server Pages, commonly called JSP, is a Java- based alternative to ASP,invented and standardized by Sun.. JSP uses a syntax similar to ASP  except the scripting language is Java. Unlike ASP, JSP is an open standard implemented by dozens of vendors across all platforms. JSP is closely tied with servlets because a JSP page is transformed into a servlet as part of its execution.

Servlets

Java servlets are a key component  of server-side Java development .A servlet is a small, pluggable extension to a server  that enhances the server’s functionality.Servlets allow developers to extend and customize any Java-enabled web or application  server with a hitherto unknown degree of portability, flexibility and ease.
