Web Vehicle Agent System Project

January 16, 2016 by ProjectsGeek Leave a Comment

Web Vehicle Agent System

Project Objective

Web Vehicle Agent System

This Web Vehicle Agent System can be used to keep track of all the official information pertaining to a vehicle. Companies can use it to track information about all the cars in their fleet. Second hand car dealers can use it to easily transfer registration for cars when sold. New car dealers can easily handle the registration system via this system.

Each car has a unique Vehicle Identification Number or VIN. Along with this there are unique chassis numbers and engine numbers for each car. This system exploits this to ensure that each car in the system is unique. Each dealer when selling a car is required to enter these unique numbers, which are recorded and checked for duplicates. When a registration request is made, the system will assign a unique registration number to a car with these three numbers linked. Any police officer can easily check the VIN of any car against the system to find the registration number or vice versa.

This Web Vehicle Agent System will also maintain information about fines, registered purpose of car, physical identification, photos, car specifications, features and insurance details. This data cannot be altered but new files can be added and old files can be tagged as outdated by the appropriate officials.

Second hand car dealers can use the registration number of the car to find it in the system and tag the cars as for sale. They will be required to check the registered VIN and the actual VIN. The second hand dealers will be notified about any outstanding fines and about the insurance for the car. When the car is sold, they can easily indicate this on the system and upload a bill of sale and identification for the new owner.

Companies with a fleet of cars can use this system to track the status of their cars. Any fines tagged by the system or insurance payments due will be automatically notified. Any enquiries about the car will be automatically routed to the company.

Existing System

The existing Web Vehicle Agent System  is extremely outdated and new car owners have to work with lethargic government officials to complete the process. Paper records are maintained at regional offices and it is difficult for officers to check these files at will. Corruption is rife due to such complexity in the system. Second hand dealers often get into trouble because they are unaware about outstanding fines or dues for the cars they are selling. Companies managing many cars do not have the time or resources to track the government mandated requirements of their cars.

Proposed System

The proposed Web Vehicle Agent System will make the process simpler and will help all the stakeholders in ensuring a smooth and transparent system. New car dealers will find the process of registration very simple. Second hand dealers need not be worried about being tricked on sales. Companies need not appoint extra resources to track each car.

Web Vehicle Agent System Modules

Admin: The admin will ensure each car in the system is unique and that all requirements of the system are met. All user access credentials are also created by this module.

New: New cars can be registered and numbers checked in this module.

Enforcement: Car details can be checked by any officer of the law at any time. All fines will also be uploaded by this module.

Addendum: Any changes in the car details will be made here. Second car dealers will have access to this module as well.

Owner: The owner or company that owns many cars can use this module to see the status of fines and for reminders about any payments.

Web File Management System Project

January 16, 2016 by ProjectsGeek Leave a Comment

Web File Management System

Objective

Web File Management SystemThis Web File Management System will enable users to easily share files over the web. Today with business collaborating across the globe, it is very important to share files securely and easily. This system will enable people to collaborate on the same file and will allow the creator to easily control access.

The file types will be in a proprietary file format that will have encryption, this will prevent viewers from downloading the file and accessing it locally. The files can be documents, spreadsheets or presentations. When a person creates a file on the system they can enter the email IDs of people who have access. They can log in to the system using their email ID and view the files. The creator can block access to the file for one or all users at any time.

The user who creates the file can also allow viewers with access privileges to edit the file. Any edits in the file will be marked with a comment about who edited it and a timestamp. Revisions to the documents can be viewed by any user. The file creator can roll back the revisions if needed.

Such a Web File Management System will be very useful for people trying to work on projects across the world and data can be shared easily as well. Security is very important in this system and users will be required to undergo an elaborate authentication process at periodic intervals. This authentication process will include a personal password, email authentication, phone authentication and a photo taken by a web camera. Such elaborate measures will help stop data theft which is an ever present threat in today’s corporate world.

The system will also provide a rudimentary chat system which will allow users to share messages pertaining to the file. The chat system is basic so as to prevent the system being misused for regular chats.

Existing System

The existing Web File Management System of collaboration uses computer tools such as email and Office. Users generally have to download each revised file and access it to make changes. They have to keep abreast of all the emails to ensure they know, which the current version of the document is. Any changes made in the document is difficult to note unless users take the effort to personally comment on each change. This system is time consuming and cumbersome to follow for most collaborators.

Proposed System

The proposed Web File Management System will provide a single platform for all the people working on a file to collaborate on. Security of the file will be ensured by rigorous authentication and users will be see all changes made. The file creator will maintain complete control over the changes in the document and can also control access of different users. There is no way that the file can escape the system unless the creator exports the file in a common file format.

Web File Management System Modules

User: A generic user will be able to access files that they have been asked to collaborate on. They will be able to make changes based on the access rights given by the file creator.

Creator: The file creator will upload a file and can choose who should access it. Changes in the file versions will also be controlled by the file creator and a final version of the file can be exported to any common file format.

Admin: The admin can only maintain the system and ensure that all the security features are running smoothly. Any misuse of the system can be blocked by the admin when complaints are received.

Web Based Resource Management System

January 15, 2016 by ProjectsGeek Leave a Comment

Web Based Resource Management System

Objective

The aim of this Web Based Resource Management System project is to build a system to manage the resources of a company. A company’s resources include the employees, computer systems, other facilities, time, etc. This system will help managers make efficient use of the resources by allocating them as required.

The Web Based Resource Management System will store records of employees, clients, projects and office resources. The system will have all details about employee skills, interests, experience and availability, and this information will be used to assign projects. This will make it easier for employees as they will not have to browse through numerous emails to create personal to – do lists, instead the system will automatically generate a daily to – do based on the work assigned by different supervisors.

When a client places a requirement, the system will allocate this to a manager with the required experience. The manager can then create a project and create a team with available employees. The manager can either ask the system to automatically generate a team based on skills and experience, or the manger can browse the employee records and create a team. The system will check the availability of workers by checking the deadlines of other projects and rescheduling as required.

The manager can then set the facilities and equipment required for the project. The system will automatically check availability and assign the required resources. This will make the process much faster. If the resources are not available and the project cannot proceed without these resources, the system will create a buy request for the procurement department. They will in turn judge the need and perform a cost – benefit analysis, following which a decision will be taken. The manager can then review the situation and make any changes in requirements.

The flow chart for the process is shown in the next page.

Web Based Resource Management System

Existing System

The existing Web Based Resource Management System utilizes multiple managers, paperwork and emails. One manager will be responsible for allocation of resources, this system is inefficient because it is difficult for one manager to remain informed about the work of different employees. A single employee may be working on multiple projects and will have to sift through thousands of emails to understand the status of the project. This system is not flexible and it will not be able to adjust to bigger workloads as the company grows.

Proposed System

The proposed Web Based Resource Management System will make the whole process of allocation easy and will ensure efficient utilization of resources. The system can easily flag resources that are sitting idle for long periods of time. Such a system will help upper management remain up to date about the work being done by different employees, while making it easy for project supervisors to find the talent they require. Such a system will make the process of facility allocation impartial and avoid such disputes.

Web Based Resource Management System Modules

Admin: The admin will be able to create user accounts for clients and employees. The top level management can use this module to access work statistics and to keep the system details updated.

Project: The project module can be used to create a project and allocate resources to it. This module can parse the information about available resources and can make a decision about which resources to allot to which project.

Scheduler: This will create a work schedule for the entire company. It will sort project requirements and resource availability, creating a schedule for each employee of the company.

Online Vehicle Showroom Project

January 13, 2016 by ProjectsGeek Leave a Comment

Online Vehicle Showroom Project

Project Objective

Online Vehicle Showroom

For most people a car is a very important purchase decisions and with modern lifestyles it has become a necessity. Today people have many choices when it comes to cars but the basic experience is about the same. All cars are equally reliable and offer material standards matching their class. This makes it easy for consumers to purchase a car without even seeing it. In some places it is not possible to view a car at the showroom before purchase due to non – availability of showroom cars or delays in production. This system will allow users to easily purchase cars from dealers on a web – based interface.

The car manufacturer will be required to upload all the promotional material for the car such as pictures, videos, interviews, etc. All details about features, specifications and models will also be available. Links to reviews by external reviewers can be accessed by users. Besides the promotional photos the manufacturer will be required to take photos of the different colours of the car in a prescribed background, so as to allow users to compare the car with other cars. Users will be able to see pictures of each trim level of the car and this will help them make an informed choice.

After choosing a car, the user will be allocated a sales representative at their closest dealership. Users will then have the option to opt for exchange offers where they sell their current car to the dealership for discounts on the new car. The dealership will request specific photos and video clips to ascertain the quality of the car and set a buyback price accordingly. The user will also have the option to finance their purchase with the dealership’s partner banks. After all these formalities are completed an official order will be placed and computerised receipts will be generated.

The user will then be able to track the manufacturing and shipping process of the car. Shortly before the delivery of the car, the user will have the option to choose accessories for the car. They will be able to see how it looks by using a simulating tool that will show how the accessory looks on their car. After such choices are made the dealer will order the required accessories and fit them on the car before it is delivered. All the payment formalities will also be completed by this stage. The dealer will arrange for the vehicle’s registration as well and keep the car ready for delivery on the scheduled date.

Till now all the interaction between dealer and customer was completed via the web interface. Now the new car owner can drive to the dealership in their old car and exchange it for the new one after signing all the required documents.

Existing System

The existing system of car booking is solely done at the car showroom. Due to space constraints, car showrooms are generally placed at the outskirts of the city and new customers will have to make repeated journeys to complete all the formalities. Human error is prevalent in this system because sales representatives try to make the task easier by filling in some parts of the form without troubling the customer. A new customer is constantly anxious about the car delivery and also has to search different avenues for bank loans and selling their old car.

Proposed System

This system will make the whole process user friendly. Dealerships need not be placed close to the customers as customers only need to visit it once to collect the car. Users can check the system at any time to prevent errors and sales representatives need not be troubled about keeping the customer informed. All bank formalities and car exchanges can be completed via the system itself.

Modules

Admin: The admin will verify each new user and create their account.

Dealer: The dealer module will update information about each car.

Sales: This module will be used by the sales representative to complete the sale of the new car and to provide vehicle manufacturing tracking information.

Banking: This module can be used for all the banking related tasks of the process.

Exchange: This module will list cars for exchange and will collect all the required information for new entries. The price for each car will be set based on the data collected.

Customer: The customer can make their choice of car and keep track of all the details of the process using this module.

Online Hotel Management System

Project Objective

Online Hotel Management System

The aim of this Online Hotel Management System project is to build a system that will able to automate many operations in a hotel. Modern day hotels aim to create a user friendly atmosphere with the availability of concierges who remember frequent visitors and making it possible to call and make reservations. While such hotels are extremely expensive, such a service can also be provided in a cost – effective manner with the use of computers.

The process begins when a customer books a room, the booking can be placed online or through an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). The system will remember client preferences and can provide options accordingly. Once the room is booked, the visitor only needs to turn up and present identification. The system will also be able to send messages to the visitor’s phone to remind them of restaurants they may have visited in the past and other options. The system can accept bookings for restaurants present in the hotel. Things – to – do around the locality can be advertised as well through messages.

Every hotel has an intricate system of cleaning and replacement of room sheets, etc. The scheduling of the same can be completely managed by this system and it can also take into account guest preferences. The guest can use the IVRS at the hotel to inform the system about the best time to clean the room.

When the guest vacates the room, the system will create the bill, schedule cleanup and allot the next guest. The customer can keep their credit card linked with the system to avoid the hassle of continually making payments. All payments in the hotel can be automatically credited from this account.

At check out the user can enter a review which will be uploaded to the website, the system will collect user reviews from other sites and from past guests, making them available to future visitors. The Online Hotel Management System will make it easy for higher level management to easily review the operation of the hotel.

Existing System

The existing Online Hotel Management System depends on many highly trained individuals to take care of guests. Such a system is prone to error and delays. Visitors may not have a consistent experience and have to be bothered about remembering mundane things such as payments and restaurants. A lot of paperwork is generated and it is difficult for a supervisor to go through all these documents. Allocation of rooms based on expected vacancies is also difficult as it requires extra work on the part of the employees. The costs of running such a hotel is also great.

Proposed System

The proposed Online Hotel Management System is much more efficient in terms of human and monetary resources. The number of staff to ensure successful implementation is reduced. Lead time of service is reduced and it is easy to predict room availabilities. Electronic documentation of hotel operations help management in keeping the hotel in check. A visitor can be sure of consistent service even across other hotels of the same chain.

Online Hotel Management System Modules

Admin: An admin can create accounts for the user and present reports to management. Details about employees and cleaning schedules are also updated by the admin.

Scheduler: This can be used to schedule cleaning and room assignment.

User: The user can book rooms and clear all payments using this module. They will be able present their mobile number to receive updates from the system. Their preferences will also be stored and accessed by this module.

Online Eye Care System Project

January 13, 2016 by ProjectsGeek Leave a Comment

Online Eye Care System

Project Objective

Online Eye Care SystemThis Online Eye Care System can be used by Eye doctors or Optometrists to manage their practise. Out of all the specialities in medical science this is one of the most frequently visited due to the requirement of repeated check – ups. This system can be used to save patient records, schedule appointments and place orders for custom eye equipment.

Each patient registered at the hospital will be assigned a unique file which will consist of data from all their visits to the hospital. The doctor who conducts the assessment will save all eye power related information and prescriptions on the system. This will make the whole process transparent for the user, as they will be able to view the history of their eye problems in one location.

This Online Eye Care System can be accessed by an optician of the user’s choice and they will be able to book new eye glasses or contact lens at any time using the latest prescription. If the patient wishes to transfer to a new doctor or seek a second opinion the system will allow easy sharing of the data in the file via the internet. The third party will be able to view the file till the user decides to revoke access.

The user can also schedule appointments with their optometrist using this system and will receive information about confirmed bookings.

Existing System

The existing Online Eye Care System is fragmented because the whole process of getting prescriptions and booking eye glasses is completed by different vendors. It is important for the user to visit each place and provide the files required. This wastes the customer’s time and also increases the chances of error for these different vendors. They will have to check whether they have the correct file on multiple occasions.

Proposed System

The proposed Online Eye Care System aims to make the process easier by making it easy for users to share files. This file will be the original uploaded by the optometrist and will be routinely updated. The patient just needs to ensure that the optician has access to the files. Eye equipment such as sunglasses, spectacles and contact lens can be ordered remotely via the internet as well when these tamper free files are used from this system.

Online Eye Care System Modules

Admin: The admin will create access for the doctors, users and regulate external access.

Optometrist: The optometrist when registered with the system will be able to create and accept appointments using this system. All patient records will be updated under this one system.

Patient: The patient will be able to access their file and book eyeglasses via the prescribed opticians of the hospital. They can also provide external access to any third party vendor of their choice.

External: Any external third party optometrist or optician can view files on the system when granted access by the patient. The patient can revoke access at any time
